Murrieta girl to be on "Star Search"
The Californian, February 18, 2003

Joelle James, a 12-year-old Murrieta girl, will be competing Wednesday on the television show "Star Search."

Joelle, who has performed the National Anthem at such events as one of last year's Anaheim Angels playoff games and a number of Lake Elsinore Storm games, will compete for the title of "junior singer" on the CBS talent show.

In 2001, Joelle sang "Georgia on My Mind" to Ray Charles as he was presented a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Temecula Valley International Film Festival.

Wednesday's episode of "Star Search," which airs at 8 p.m. on Channel 2, begins a new series of competitions and will include guest judges Magic Johnson and singer Usher.
